Close to 25,000 Lost Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Powerful Weather Systems
Around 25,000 residences in Queensland's southeast were left without power on Monday morning after intense storm systems swept through the region, bringing wind gusts reaching 109km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Broad Damage
Residents witnessed large ice chunks as large as seven centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that various areas across the state had been hit with significant hail.

Response teams were working to restore energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams working to manage the extensive power failures.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
At the same time, around 1,000 households in Victoria also faced power outages after Melbourne experienced its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred emergency reports across the region, mostly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At one point on the previous day, over 28k energy customers in Victoria were lacking electricity.
Meteorological Predictions
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tomorrow was predicted as the most rainy day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential anticipated across multiple regions of both regions.
Medical Alert
Medical authorities warned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
This caution comes after historical occurrences where analogous circumstances led to major medical consequences in the area.
